The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed rogue-like shooter 'The Binding of Isaac' finally has a release date for the PS4/PS5 consoles. The game is titled 'Repentance', which seems fitting given that it's part of an action-packed series all about survival and, well... repenting.

According to recent announcements by MaNimalis Inc., the developers behind this popular title, fans can expect 'The Binding of Isaac: Repentance' on Nintendo Switch in Q3 2021. For those who may not be aware yet (we don't judge), a 'rogue-like' game is one where each playthrough offers something completely different due to procedurally generated levels and random item drops.

As for the gameplay itself? Expect more of what made its predecessors so beloved - fast-paced shoot-em-up action, randomly spawned enemies trying their luck at dispatching your fragile little hero (Isaac), as well as an array of wacky items that can either aid or hinder progress depending on how lucky you feel when picking them up.

Interestingly enough, if Isaac hadn't met his untimely demise so many times throughout the series thus far...it seems he might have followed in Edmund's footsteps instead! Who knew? Anyway - Edmund apparently went onto create his very own 'Binding of Isaac' game too!

All joking aside though; with a release date finally set for later this year on PS4/PS5 as well, it looks like fans won't have much longer to wait before diving back into the hellish world of Isaac once again.
